I think a big improvement to learning the game and the combos, as well as leaning into the theme more, would be to display the currently played meal name above the played cards in the centre.

So for example, if the currently played meal is a Fancy Dog with Fancy Fries, above the 3 cards would be the text "Fancy Dog" and above the 2 cards would be "Fancy Fries".

Adding some food icons would be a nice thematic touch, but not required, just displaying the names would be a big improvement.
