I do not know what happened. I used my next to last holiday joker the night before (I had been feeling unwell), but then when I went to make my turn, the joker was canceled, and I was at negative 9 hours. I had to use my last holiday joker for fear of being booted from the game for using extra time.
Ideally, I would like my holiday joker back!
