If that could be explained in the rules it would be really helpful, especially since the meaning seems to differ from the spiky "tourist stops" in the original game.

If you mean the "how to play" BGA section is unclear, well, I just checked it in both En and Fr, and it's fine (at least, now).
I spent my first two games assuming that the tourist locations were missing on my map because of bugs
