Drafting
For factions you choose from this tier:
- inventors
- philosophers moles(if late spade scoring tile better) Omar(if not best four colors)
- navigators necromancers gobins psychics felines
- lizards illusionists
- blessed
- *monks are not weak, but you should get two workers bonus & 2 spade competency tile at good position.
For colors you choose from this tier:
- green black red yellow
- others
*if green black red yellow presents, you'd better take from these, otherwise, take from three of these, or take a color that is near to the banned color .
**if you take blue, you should get somehow get 1 sailing track in early stage(through bonus is best)
*** for starting workshops, (toggle Display map indexes in preference to show index)
- green take B4 G4 and upgrade B4
- black take C6 F6 and upgrade F6
- yellow take D4 H5, use color ability spade C5 and upgrade C5
- red take D5(H6) E8 and upgrade E8
For palace tile you choose from this tier:
- num 10 (6c income + 12pw + 2books)
- num 3,7,11(if you are felines better) ,13,14,16
- num 1,2,4,5,9(if you are going to be surrounded),15
- num 6,8,12
For first round bonus tile you choose from this tier:
- 2workers&1disipline or 1spade&1book
- 1worker&4pts or 1spade&1bridge or sailing (if you pick black or blue)
- 4pw2c if you want to get power action and you don't have enough(other than black, green, Omar you cannot get 2workers/1spade in first action)
- others
Begining
There are four main target at the begining in this game:
- get palace + 3~4 workshops.
- get college + 3~4 workshops.
- get an innovation tile.
- get palace + three extra workshops and upgrade 1 to tradestation to found a city
due to 5 credit cost reduce of innovation tile while you have a palace, sometime you can get 1&3 at the same time, that is very powerful.
you will need extra resources to get to these target(s) from drafting and later.
To get palace + 3 workshops you will need at least two workers and two spades. these are the common source of them:
- bonus tile 2workers / 1spade
- power action
- some palace
- faction psychics/goblins
- color red
To get college + 3 workshops you will need at least two workers, because there is a competency tile provide 2 spades. this is the most easy opening.
To get an innovation tile you will need 5 books and a palace to reduce 5 credit cost. these are the common source of them:
- faction philosofer
- bonus tile
- red
- some palace (5 ,10 ,11 ,13 ,14 ,15)
- upgrading spade tech (you will need a priest)
- college and get a two-books competency tile
So palace(2books) + red/bonus + upgrading spade tech is the most common and pursuable way.
Remember try not to use college + upgrading to get your 4 books, because this will cost you 13 credits and you innovation tile still need 5 credits.
*professor, neutural workshop, steam machine, neutural college are better innovation tiles for begining.
To get a city you will need a good position and some spades. (green and yellow are the easier ones)
Here is an example that only need 6pw and 1 book action to get two cities in round one:
You take felines, green, 2workers bonus, city tile palace(11) , i got total 15credit, 8workers, 2 at banking and 2 at science, power is 4/8/0
- sacrifice 4 power to get power action 2 workers. have 15c 10w, 8/0/0
- upgrade B4 to tradestation, have 12c 8w
- get 2 pw because of yellow C5, 6/2/0
- upgrade B4 to palace, have 6c 4w
- get palace ability to found a city, get two spade city tile and terraform B3 A6, build B3, have 4c 3w,
- get felines ability have 3 disipilines to bank(somewhere you need and get 3pw), and 1book 3/5/0
- get 4 pw because of yellow C5, 0/7/1
- use book action 1 book to 5pw, 0/2/6
- build B2, have 2c 2w,
- build A6 have 0c 1w
- use bonus tile 1 disipiline to science get 1pw, 0/1/7
- quick action use 6 power to get 3c1w, have 3c2w
- upgrade to tradestation and found a city.
Middle game (round 2-4)
your main target is to get 2 cities, 3 colleges, 1 income innovation tile, and the rest are workshops(4~5).
or you can expand, get less college and more workshops
for 3 colleges competency tiles, you take 2 spades if necessary, 3 point 2credit if in round 1 or 2, priest to dicipline 2pts, pass:low dicipline pts, pass:city pts.
Late game(round 5-6)
your main target is to transform your resouces to pts.
there are some ways:
- scoring tiles, especially spade/disipling/workshop
- factions: navigator, moles
- place: priest 5pts, workshop 2pts, downgrade college, tradestation 3pts
- competency tile:priest to dicipline 2pts, pass:low dicipline pts, pass:city 2pts, border workshop 3pts.
- innovation tiles.
- cities(simply found cities is not an efficinet way, you should build with scoring tile)
